Purchased

Don't you know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.” ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20 HCSB

In today’s world everything is about you.  How do you like your hamburger, how do you want this or that.  The customer is always right and you can do anything right?  It’s your life, you can do what you want as long as it doesn’t hurt others.  We get so sucked into this thought we actually start to believe it.  We have built an entire culture on this premise and for the Christian it’s a lie. You were purchased at a great price and you now belong to God, through the blood of Christ.  God Himself took your sin upon Himself and died.  By doing so He removed your sin and gave you life.  By faith in what He accomplished we are washed clean, justified and sanctified, set apart for His glory.
By putting our faith in Christ we are filled by the Holy Spirit, God in us.  We carry God where ever we go.  We become witnesses to this life changing power and we testify to others about the glory of God in our lives.  We become a royal priesthood, a people for God who intercede for those who do not know God or have access to Him because of sin. This is an incredible privilege and a responsibility we all carry.  So sin has no place in our lives.  We do not and cannot do things that tarnish or bring shame to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  We are to honor Him in everything we do.  Christ who gave His all, Christ who died for my sins, so that I might have life in Him.  The Lamb of God who took on the sins of the world and to think through Christ we become children of God, heirs to a kingdom, it is beyond comprehension.

So today think about Christ and what He has done for you.  Think back about the way you were before Christ.  Look at the people around you whose lives have been forever changed because of Him.  Take time to give thanks to Him who is worthy of praise and from this state of “thankfulness”, proclaim Him to the world around you!  Intercede in prayer for those who do not know Him.  Remember who you are in Christ, remember you were bought at a great price and glorify God in everything you do!

Lord thank you!  Thank you for dying for me, thank you for taking my sin and giving me life.  Thank you for filling me with your Holy Spirit, thank you for life I have and help me to proclaim you to a world that is in desperate need of You!  Amen.
