Grasshoppers

"To ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and we must have seemed the same to them." ~Numbers 13:33

The Lord had Moses send in men to scout Canaan.  They were to report back everything they saw and to bring back fruit.  Upon returning all of them gave a negative report.  The cities are big and fortified.  There are too many people and they are so much stronger than we are.  The men are of great size and we look like grasshoppers in their eyes.  It would be impossible to take this land!   Caleb on the other hand said, “We must go up and take possession of the land because we can certainly conquer it!”

So many of us look at an obstacle in life as too big, too strong, impossible before we even begin to get over it.  Obstacles are a part of life how we view them matters.  Caleb was able to see differently because he followed God “wholeheartly”.  Caleb knew with God’s help nothing was impossible, even giants could be defeated.  What are you facing today, where do you need the Lord’s help?  God never waste an opportunity to expand your faith in Him, it starts by trusting Him with the difficulties of life.  We know the rest of the story, Joshua after Moses death took the land of Canaan.

Lord help us today to trust You with the impossible.  To look to You for help, build our faith.  Show us Your glory so that we may proclaim you among the nations!  Put a new song in our mouth a song of praise to our Lord.    Thank you, Amen
