Promise Land

“When you cross the Jordan into the land of Canaan, you must drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you, destroy all their stone images and cast images, and demolish all their high place.”  ~Numbers 33:51-52

Moses was giving the people finial instructions about entering the land of Canaan.  The people who inhabited the land were a godless people, who would never follow God.  So knowing this God ordered His people to drive out every person from the land.  He did not want them to live and He ordered them to destroy all their idols.  On the surface this sounds cruel.  But God knew the Canaanite people would lead His people astray.  God’s plan was for His people were to be the light to the world and draw everyone to Him in the land of Israel.  

God has a plan for you also and He wants to rid your life of anything that will take away from the plan.  By giving your life to Christ, He leads you to the promise land.  Where He will help you and enable you to conquer your sins, fears, doubts, and anything else that takes away from His glory and purpose for you. He wants you to shine in the world. He wants to use you to reach others for His name sake.  He wants you to reach your full potential, to be everything He made you to be.  He also wants to rescue you from wondering in the wilderness of life, lost, broken and in need.  He wants to save you from yourself and give you a new life, a life worth living!

Lord thank you for this gift of life.  Thank you for rescuing me from the wilderness of self, where I am never satisfied.  Lord lead me, guide me, and shine in me for the whole world to see!  Lord thoughts and ways are to lofty from me to attain.  You are amazing and I praise you always! Amen!
