“So the Lord gave Israel all the land He had sworn to give their fathers, and they took possession of it and settled there. The Lord gave them rest on every side according to all He had sworn to their fathers. None of their enemies were able to stand against them, for the Lord handed over all their enemies to them. None of the good promises the Lord had made to the house of Israel failed. Everything was fulfilled.” ~Joshua 21:43-45 HCSB

We can take great comfort in these words, because God does not fail. People will fail us, you will fail, but the Lord doesn’t fail. When we put our faith in God and His word we can be certain it will happen. So when we read a verse, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:8-9) We know through Christ all of our sins are forgiven and if we do sin again, we confess them and we are forgiven. We know if the Bible says, “If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” (Romans 10:9) We can have confidence that if we confess Jesus is Lord, we will be saved and given a new life in Christ. When Jesus said He is preparing a place for you in heaven and you will be with Him, we know we are going to be with Jesus when we die. In this world of uncertainty, I am certain my Lord will never leave me or forsake me. Knowing this allows me to face any situation with confidence. I do not put my faith in myself, but I put my faith in His faithfulness!
Lord you are faithful and I thank you! Every word you say comes true and we can have confidence in you. Lord help us to life fully knowing this. Help us to live boldly for your glory. Lord use us to reach others for your name sake. Amen!
