Go!!

“Then He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to the whole creation.” ~Mark 16:15 HCSB

According to Mark the disciples didn’t believe Jesus had risen.  Mary Magdalene and two other disciples had seen Jesus and reported back to the eleven.  But they did not believe and then Jesus appeared to them.  After dinner reclining at the table, Jesus stood among them.  He rebuked them for their unbelief and hardened hearts.  Then He commissioned them to Go, go into all the world and preach the gospel.  

We like all the disciples of Jesus are commanded to go and preach the gospel.  Each one of us has the responsibility to share Christ with others.  Jesus was adamant about the gospel and there is a reason! All the people of earth are in sin and the only way to absolve their sin is through Jesus Christ.  People who are in sin are condemned and cannot enter the kingdom of heaven.  They cannot live in the presence of a holy God.  God is love and from that love He sent His Son Jesus Christ to free us and cleanse us of sin once and for all.  But this can only be done through Christ. 

“There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 HCSB)  The Bible also says, “But how can they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe without hearing about Him? And how can they hear without a preacher? (Romans 10:14 HCSB)  Scripture is clear.  There is no other way to know God, there is no other way to have forgiveness of sin, and there is no other way of salvation but through Christ.  And there is no way people can come to know Christ unless he is shared by someone who knows Christ.  We are commanded to Go!  Go share Christ today! 

Lord thank you for your Son Jesus Christ.  Through Him I have forgiveness of sin and eternal life and I am so thankful.  Lord put people in my life that need to hear about Jesus Christ.  Lord give me the words to say, give me the boldness to share your grace, love and mercy with someone today!  Amen
