“The sun will no longer be your light by day, and the brightness of the moon will not shine on you; but the Lord will be your everlasting light, and God will be your splendor” ~Isaiah 60:19 HCSB
Isaiah is telling of a time in the future, when God will be glorified in Zion forever. It is a time when the earth will be restored to what it was suppose to be. Everything will be made new and those who believe are part of this kingdom. In this kingdom there will be no more pain and suffering. There will be no more sin that rules our lives. The light that shines into our bedroom window will not be the sun but the SON. His glory will be everywhere and we will be with Him forever and ever.
In today’s world what seems to be lacking the most is hope. We look around and it seems everything is trying to take away hope. How we treat each other, natural disasters, nations at war. It seem everywhere I turn I am confronted with someone or something trying to rob me of hope. But my hope doesn’t rest in man or the world. My hope is in Jesus. He is the hope of my life and in Him I can find rest and peace. For I know this world is only temporary, nothing here last forever, it will all pass away. The flesh I’m in, the relationships, the house, the car, the job, the government, the nations, everything will pass. When I die I will be present with the Lord and when He returns, He will restore all things unto Himself for the glory of the Father, He will establish a new heaven and a new earth. This time it will be forever and He will reign. Knowing this give me great hope, hope beyond understanding!
Lord I put my hope in you! I am thankful for the hope you have given me. Help me to cling to the hope when I look around and lose heart. Lord help to share your hope with others. I thank you Lord for Jesus, my Lord and Savior! Amen
