Jubilent

“Clap your hands, all you people; shout to God with a jubilant cry.  For Yahweh the Most High, is awe-inspiring, a great King over all the earth.” ~Psalm 47:1-2 HCSB

When I read this I picture a concert.  The performers have walked out on stage and the crowd is excited and clapping.  The people are jubilant and wanting.  Think about how we are toward God.  When was the last time you enjoyed being in His presence and praised Him for who He is?  I recently went to the ocean and sat on a rock overlooking the surf.  It was an incredible sight to see the waves relentlessly coming and going.  I couldn’t help myself and I praised Him with jubilance!  

The world around us is in turmoil.  There are earthquakes and wars and rumors of war.  I have never seen anything like it in my life time.  It is easy to get caught up in the “gloom”.  One thing I do know, God is King over all the earth and I will praise Him.  I will praise Him for His mercy. I praise Him for His love.  I will praise Him for the beauty that surrounds me.  I thank Him for the day He has given me.  I will stand and put my trust in the One who is worthy.  I will stand and clap and shout for the One who has always existed and who is to come. I will cry out praise for our King, for I know in the end He will prevail.  

Lord help us to look towards you.  To focus on your strength and love.  To know you are in control when we all seem so out of control.  Lord I praise you, I love you and know you are King.  Thank you for today! Amen
